Finding Runaways and Teens That Are Evading Their Parents
It is not uncommon for preteens and teenagers to get lured away from from their families by someone they meet online. it is not rare for a girl to get overwhelmed by hormones and preyed upon by an abusive boyfriend. Young boys are convinced to run away from their families and stay with an older man. There is no scenario we have not seen and investigated for a family with a young missing family member.
What the young teens do not realize is that they are being preyed upon, and that their family is not the enemy. When we are hired by a family who has a young daughter that has run away, it is often the case that she ran away to someone she met online. In these cases, the teens do not realize the person they are running to is actually a predator. Once they are away from their family and they realize this person is not who they said they were, or they realize the person has bad intentions, the teen needs help but doesn’t want to reach out to their family. That is where we come in to help. We locate the child, contact them, and get them safely back to their family.
We use social media, speak with friends and family of the missing preteen/teen, and may conduct surveillance to locate and communicate with the runaway. Each circumstance is unique and we treat it as so.
